Tuesday was Blades. It now being Thursday, I suppose I should do this write-up, yeah? HERE WE GO.
Last time, which was the better part of a month ago, the scoundrels were preparing for a series of jobs. This time, we jump right in with the whole "let's steal boats from the Grinders" thing.
The crew had hired some Rovers to pilot the boats for them. They fall back on a trick they'd used before and release a possessed goat near the docks, letting the Grinders deal with that while they and the Rovers unmoor the boats and steal them. This works for a bit (more than a bit; there were critical successes and just normal successes aplenty tonight), but eventually the Grinders shoot the goat and start toward the crew.
Cage, eschewing even any semblance of fucking around, fires a cannon at the dock beneath their feet and scatters a bunch of them. Copper and Siren get on boats and start heading away, and One-Eye tosses a smoke bomb as a distraction, but then starts shouting a bunch of Skovic curses at them. That, of course, gets their attention, and they start shooting, but Cage cleverly arranged a kind of magnet-grenade - throw it and it attracts the bullets right back at you! This routes the last of the Grinders, and then the crew with their new fleet make it to a cove that Siren had set up ahead of time, calling on her background as a Leviathan Hunter.
The crew stows the boats, and heads home. Mission accomplished.
A couple of days later, though, the fella who'd helped get the cove ready turns up at the Widdershins hideout, showing Siren what remains of his hand. Seems the Grinders have taken it up themselves to enact a little reprisal. The crew debates how to deal with this, but eventually they decide to just throw a bit of Coin (and rep) away on it. They'll deal with the Grinders later.
For now, though, they have much bigger fish to fry. They're going to take on two jobs back to back. First they're going to transport Penderyn's "conveyance" to the Lighthouse in Whitecrown - simple enough, they think. Then they're going to rob the Master Warden. They decide that their way in is to blackmail someone working in the house into giving them information or access, since it's a lot easier to lean on some poor working stiff. They also spend some time working on the Black Lotus (their ship) so it can hold some gear, allowing them to swap loadout between these jobs.
Next session is going to be interesting.
