Why not? It'll be quick.

I got this game in the recent BLM bundle. My stepson Will was actually working on something kinda-sorta similar at one point (that was more about fantasy monsters than kaiju, but tomato/tomato).
The basic conceit here is that kaiju have learned to live in harmony (more or less) with humanity, and even enroll in a preparedness school taught by humans, largely to keep kaiju from breaking everything when they get big(ger). Each players is meant to control both a staff member and a pupil. I think, however, I'm just gonna do a pupil character, for two reasons. One is that I do indeed want to keep this quick, and the other is that I just don't find the teacher chargen all that interesting (both forms of chargen use a series of questions, but the teacher ones are mostly yes/no, which doesn't really lend itself to depth without elaboration, and I kinda can't be bothered today).
So: Kaiju. Actually, I could make a kaijin (giant humanoid with weird powers) or a seijin (alien beings), but I think kaiju is really where I'd like to be. My baby kaiju is going to be based on the ghost leviathan from Subnautica, since I just finished playing through that game.
Now, obviously my kaiju isn't nearly this fearsome, he's just a wee tot. So he'll be long and snake-like, but still in the early stages of life, meaning he's amphibious. He's got legs and is maybe more salamander than snake, and hasn't grown the big wide head-plates that he will as an adult. He's light blue, and parts of him glow with bioluminescence sometimes. He's squishy and slimy as well.
Personality-wise, he's curious about things that glow, but prefers dark places (otherwise, like, how do you know if something glows?). He also retreats if bruised; he hasn't grown a hard shell yet.
Why can you be a handful to teach? I think because he has a habit of slipping into narrow, dark places. His malleable body lets him squeeze into places that are smaller than you'd think.
What sort of things do you like? Lights, especially multi-colored or blinking. Bodies of water. Warm, temperate climates. Hard candies the size of buses (he likes to curl around them and slowly dissolve them).
I start with two abilities. One of the examples is "breathe/swim underwater," so that's easy. I also think that my kaiju's ability to squeeze into small spaces counts, so I'll call it "squeezable body".
And that's pretty much it, actually. My kaiju's name is Newt, just to keep things right on the nose (do newts have noses?).
