Character Creation: Deathmatch Island

It's always interesting to me how multiple games with very similar thematic underpinnings or premises come out within a few years of each other. Demon: The Descent, f'rex, was released at the same general time as a few other spy-themed games, and here we have...

The Game: Deathmatch Island
The Publisher: Old Dog Games/Evil Hat Productions
Degree of Familiarity: None, but I'm actually going to run AGON, the basis for this system, next week
Books Required: Just the one

(Also, my head keeps filking "Christmas Island" as "Deathmatch Island".)

So! Deathmatch Island characters are kinda blank slates; you wake up on the island with a headache, a jumpsuit, and not a hell of a lot else. There are tables to randomize various bits of chargen, so I shall probably use those. First thing I gotta pick is an Occupation, so I roll a d4 to pick a table (1), and 2d8 for results on that table and I get...6, 7. That gives me either Chiropractor or Combat Engineer, depending on how I read the dice. You know, let's go with the former. I can pretend I'm a doctor (since that's also what my character would be doing OOH BURN). My Occupation die begins at d6, and gives me a favored Capability (Snake Mode), in which I get a d8.

I get a Name, and a d6 in said Name. There are tables in which to roll said names, so I shall use those. I get...Ira Bellamy. Sounds good to me. I roll a d100 to get my competitor number...52.

Got a few Distinguishing Features tables, so let's use those. Glacial eyes (cold or just very blue?), willowy build, sharp hair (?), perfect teeth.

I'd get 2 Trust with everyone else on the team, but as it's just me, that doesn't much matter.

Typically my Production Player (the GM) would give me my Initial Motivation, but as I don't have one, perhaps I could generate one randomly? Yes indeed, there are 12. A d12 roll gets me...Victory! Ira knows he's on a game show and wants to win it! Maybe he'll win a car or something cool like th- hey wait are those real guns?

All my Capabilities start at d6, except for Snake Game (which is used for trickery, betrayal, and generally con artistry, you know, like perpetuating pseudoscience). And beyond that, I'm ready to die go!
